Im a Newbie
Just booked the Moho to get some Auto E & P levelling fitted by SAP in Doncaster. (In May)
Quick question for anybody with this system fitted. As i have manual air assist on the rear do you have to deflate the air bags before operating the levelling jacks or do you leave them as is ?
Thanks
Dave.

We have air assist on the rear and as our van always has a nose down attitude, and I release the airbag pressure to lower our rear height before operating the jacks, but that's the only reason I deflate the airbags.

Ask Mick the question while you are at SAP would be your best bet.

We have "full air" on ours and when you deploy the jacks the system drops some air out of the bags first and then levels with the jacks from a lower starting point, Mick did say that if I operate the jacks in manual mode and the wheels are likely to come off the ground to first put the suspension into service mode to stop the bags deflating as the axle lifts, the reason being that dropping the van down onto empty air bags can nip them, not sure if the same applies to "semi air"

As above "ask Mick"

Thanks, yes i will ask Mick (The Guru) when i'm there, was just wondering what most people do.
Cheers.

Milk gave me a loan of a car for the time my van was in his work shop so went and stayed with some friends in Shireoaks.

I dug deep and had auto rear air and E&P fitted by Mick at same time

that auto dumps the air before deploying jacks, so from that I would say yes you should 👍

If the rear air is VB it will auto drop if set up correctly. It needs to be programmed and Mick will sort that for you and advise on the operation.

How much does the van drop from normal when you drop the air Martin

Manual is different from auto (air)
If you don't let air out you lose that amount of lift (at the rear).
If you park facing up hill it won't matter but you may not get level if the other way around.

When you get the system installed make sure they fit the new removable touch screen remote, a great improvement to the system. I always drop the van to the lowest level before deploying the jacks. I do not have it on auto as the rear overhang and the speed of which it drops and picks up is much much quicker on the Mercedes than it was on my Iveco. So always have a check of the rear first. The air also raises the van much more than the Iveco chassis. I think the level from lowest to highest must be around 12 inches, a huge difference when boarding ferries. When I owned my Iveco Morelo I always felt it didn't quite raise it far enough. Mick at SAP is brilliant he will keep you right and explain everything too you.
