We got a Carioca 1.9tdi, it's a good starter M/H, people say it's underpowered, we find it OK as long as you know how and when to change gear.
It won't give you the all important "street cred" but it has a fixed bed, heaps of storage space, swivel loo, sep shower, fridge and four burner hob with grill (why duyu need a bloody oven?)
It's not a warp speed machine ,it will cruise at 60mph on the M/way and return 25mpg, nice to drive, all the things you want really.
And the beauty of it is? YOU can add the bibs and bobs,YOU feel, YOU need, to make YOUR life comfortable as we did
