Went into the rattle bus and saw this warning
IMG_3610.jpeg

but am confused, easily done, by the solar display
IMG_3612.jpeg

Have put it on hookup and will see what happens but am concerned that having just had a1300 mile blast across France and Spain, that the batteries are like this. Currently, not the sunniest of days but still a decent draw from the sun. No obvious power consumption, apart from 1 led spot light left on over night and now they look fubar’d.
If they are knackered can I only use lead acid or gel, which are the 2 options on the ebl 220?
Thanks

They been on hookup for last 40 minutes or so. Vehicle display now showing batteries at 💯, mppt showing 💯 and measuring both batteries at terminals, shows 13.83 volts……so I’m still confused 😕

you need to disconnect the ehu & wait at least 30 minutes before checking at the batteries.I'd also disconnect the solar

13.83 will be the charging voltage. Leave it charging for the day. Then disconnect. Leave it doing nothing for at least an hour (neither charging or being used) Then check the voltage. Best do it at night if you can so the solar doesn't give a false reading.

A tired battery will often still charge to a happy voltage. But it'll sag pretty quickly when the electrons stop flowing in. And collapse to very low voltages when a load is put on it.

It's times like these when a shunt is really useful because you can see how many Ah have come out of the battery.

The batteries have had a good few hours on ehu, been left and just measured across the terminals at 13.53v, left 3 interior leds on for 10 mins and both batteries now read 13.24v. Will leave charging on solar tomorrow and see what happens.

Have been a bit busy riding, drinking and a bit of eating. The weather’s been mixed but the batteries seem to be holding a steady charge of 13.65v and the solar seems to be keeping it all topped up. Might see how we get on and just wing it till we’re back in Blighty.

That's a float voltage coming from your solar and not a reflection of the state of your batteries.
