Added by a previous owner, looks like a panic alarm from years ago, may be connected to the Cobra alarm but pushing it down or resetting with the key does nothing. Can’t get it off without breaking it. Appears to have 3 wires going into it.
Confused 🤷‍♂️

No idea what it is but it went on without breaking it so no reason it won't come off without breaking it.

It does look like a panic button. Can you see a screw in the circular bit? If so, unscrew this and you should be able to move the cover forward and then unscrew the rest of it.

Similar to this one (fast forward to 7:50)

I've hot a nearly identical device in my bedroom and as you say it's a panic alarm. It looks like it's in the "activated" botton pressed position. Fairly sure that's what it is.

Definitely a panic alarm, one usually used in a domestic situation.we had one at home by the front door.probably connected to your alarm system.can be reset with use of a plastic key,not sophisticated, push the red plunge button in alarm goes off, insert key which pops up the red button and alarm stops.

Many years ago I was selling a house (I was an estate agent) The owner was away and did not set the alarm to make life easier for me as the house was almost empty. I was showing a couple over and the Lady said 'Whats this' pressing the panic button. The whole lot went off  at least the Lady now knows what that button was for.

I had to wait for the battery to run out, took 3 hours and no one turned up to see what was going on. The house was very isolated so maybe no one heard the squealing alarm!

My neighbor’s alarm went off . I had a quick look around and rang the police. Haven’t turned up yet. It was 17 years ago mind. They are probably busy and will get round to it soon.

I think the noise that would make in the van would probably scare me out of it as well...

I was driving on a very straight road in Manchester with some £1m+ houses on it , a cop car was coming the other way , blues and two's on , by the time I got to them they were out of the car and climbing over a wall where a house alarm was going off

Thats when I found out you can buy a police response , money talks , always has, always will.
