Have now established that the thermostat/on off switch does not work, goes back from O to 1 so runs constantly depleting the leisure battery, fortunately there is a cut off which does work. Good news battery is not kaput, bad news is i cant seem to source a new switch so have resorted to removing the fridge fuse when in daily driver mode. that's fine, but forgot to replace it when on hook up. found out cool blocks work for about 36 hours. had a thermometer in the box.
After that long winded explanation.
Where can i source a new switch, it is not showing up on the waeco/dometic website.

Is it a thermostat or a switch?
There are loads of switches on ebay.

If it's a thermostat where is the phial placed? It makes a difference as to what type of thermostat you see ?

Does it go from 1 to 7? Can't see on the photo.
If so it's the thermostat, is the phial on the evaporator (the cold plate)?

Just search for Waeco thermostat, there are a few, no idea what model you have but Leisurelines seem to stock some.

Waeco ones will be expensive and just a rebadged Ranco. They're about 5 quid ?

Richard and Ann it goes from O which is off, to 7. it is a built in compressor cool box, would need to dismantle the van interior to remove it. dial is in the inside top corner. Will look for Ranco

If it's a plate evaporator like a domestic compressor fridge you need a Ranco VT9 auto defrost thermostat.

The thermostat phial will be fastened to the plate evaporator with a wee clamp. The cut in temperature no matter what the setting is always +3.5°c therfore ensuring there's no ice build up on the plate.

If the thermostat phial is just inside the fridge not connected to the plate you need a bottle cooler stat - Ranco VB7 ?

will take it off tomorrow and have a look certainly looks similar. thanks again
