I do admire optimism, but considering we are now an independent country outside of the UK. how does anyone think the UK government can persuade the EU to change it's rules to suit UK residents?
Diplomatic negotiations are usually a question of 'quid pro quo', And I would have thought that the UK has so little that it is willing to negotiate on, it wouldn't waste it on an issue that effects a comparatively small percentage of travellers.
If logic and common sense entered into the question, then I would have thought that one of the safest countries in Europe with regard to carnivore health would have been granted part 1 listing from the beginning. The fact that we weren't reinforces to my mind (a) the UK government didn't take the issue seriously, and (b) other factors came into play.

A member of this cabinet didn't know Dover was an important port, so you surely don't think anything sensible is going to happen regarding holiday travel.

Closing the gate after the horse has bolted I fear. !

Signed but do think it could have been worded better and should be asking for us to be a Part 1 Listed Country.

Done. Don’t think it will do much good but anything that might publicise the situation has got to be good.
