Hi have any of you done the E09 up to Andorra and down the other side to the coast. We are in a 7.5 A class and not sure if it’s a good route. Thanks x

I can't remember the road number but I have driven up from the French side and followed a few petrol tankers up the winding road whilst being overtaken by the mad french drivers on blind bends.

Drove up there in my car many years ago and my memories of it is that it was quite a major road.

I travelled up from Barcelona on the E9 in April last year in an 8.3 mtr A class, it actually skirts around the edge of Andorra, it was a little stressful being pretty steep and twisty in places but just take your time and pull into a layby every now and then to let faster traffic through, the scariest bit was entering a tunnel in bright sunshine and exiting on the French side in rain so torrential it was near zero visibility, i had to slow down to walking pace and was worried about being rear ended but the rain eased up as we descended so all good in the end, fuel was much more expensive on the French side so you may want to make sure you fill on the Spanish side.

We tried to go there in late April of 2019 from the French side but the road was closed to all traffic due to too much snow, so we took the tunnel into Spain.

We were planning on skiing In Andorra and sadly there is no snow x

I remember driving up there from Argeles in an old 1.6 petrol Sierra which got a bit breathless as we reached the higher altitudes.

We drove up around 1984 from camping las Dunas, someone had the idea we could be there and back in a day.
