whilst travelling on the AP68 to Zaragoza, an amber warning light which shows Injection System Failure appeared on my Fiat 3L Multijet. Checking the manual, it say's can still be driven but could cause high emissions at the exhaust and possible lack of performance. Carried on for another 300 miles and found no difference in performance. Any ideas?

Doesn't that sometimes signal that problem with the "stretched" injector wiring harness ?

We had the same problem going through Austria last year. It went off for a while when I filled up with premium diesel, but then came back on again. Got home ok with no problems, went to my garage and they reset it said it was nothing and charged me 40 quid. A few miles later it came back on. Since then we've had several long trips around uk. Will take it back to garage when my service is due and hope they find a way of getting the light to go off. Vehicle is a Fiat and only done 24k miles.

Happened to us on our 2.3 early last year whilst in France. Fiat Professional garage in Avranche reset it and said there was no problem, it came back on straight away so they did further investigation and replaced the throttle body. No further problems but all the time the engine had run perfectly, although after it was replaced I started thinking it was smoother and more powerful. I could have been trying to justify the 360€ it cost.

I always carry one these in the glove box of each of our vehicles. It's a bluetooth fault code reader that you plug into your OBD port. I have the app called Torque which communicates with the code reader to tell you what the fault is and the "P" code that relates to it. The Torque app does a load more functions giving you a real time readout of various sensor data.
