“ I’m a newbie”
Just fitted these to my van after buying from a member in the classified section, they are perfect fit and quality made and they make a real difference.
I am just curious how the safety fold function works as they are fitted forward-facing on the chassis in the drive position, has anyone got them fitted and drove off while they are in the parked position and the safety function has kicked in, If so how does it work?

Thanks, Darren

I have these but didn’t know about the safety feature!!

I have these and have indeed driven off with them down

Doesn`t seem to have caused any problems, they just fold the wrong way and drag on the ground much to the amusement of the tuggers.
Mine are older type on a 2003 Al-Ko

I knew my should be able to fold if required forward from looking how they are made. I didn’t know, or think that would be the same if reversing with them. Although mine maybe slightly different not having alko chassis

I haven’t test the fail safe option yet as I put the brace across the pedals so they don’t get forgotten.

So you reversed away with them down?

Im assuming yours are like mine a fold down from the back with the pivot at the front.

Think it’s off a caravan

Driven off both ways I`m afraid.
The hinge is at the back and they wind up with the bottom facing forwards

Thinks it’s only for the AL-KO ones as they do Sawikio & Mocha version, do yours wind up forward facing ? heres some info on them

Hi all
Are these steadies - for once you are levelled up, or are they also strong enough to adjust the levelling when it just needs a bit of adjustment/tweaking ?
They look as if they could be handy.
Looking at the info blurb, I suspect that the " safety feature " is basically they will fold as you drive forward (and then drag on the floor) - so as not to be a rigid plough/ furrow maker.

They are ‘steadies’ not ‘levellers’.

In the process of deploying them there is a degree of ‘levelling’ but only in as much as they take some of the load off the suspension. They are not intended to carry the full weight of the motorhome.

We have them (or similar) on our Hobby.
If they are tightened too much it has a contra effect by taking some of the weight off the rear wheel and, in windy conditions, making the seadying effect worse.
They are NOT levellers.

Ours on our Miller must have been a bit faulty.. Ploughed a lovely furrow in a field in Italy !!
