Hi all - first thread. I have a Swift Bessacar E564 on Fiat Ducato 250 and went to ask if a local garage could do a regas on the air on. The guy was not sure of how much to put in as the plate under the bonnet gives no indication. He said something about having rear aircon and therefore needing a greater amount in the compressor, but he wasn’t sure and I have never seen any aircon controls in the rear of the MH. Any ideas?

You don’t have rear aircon, so just the standard amount is required. He should have a book, or website that tells him the spec and quantity, if your info sticker isn’t clear to read

Thanks Andy. The sticker under the bonnet was confusing. it told him which gas to use but there was a load of boxes with qtys of gas on them, but no indication as to which to use!! He had been phoning round all afternoon trying to work it out! I didn’t think I had rear aircon.

Tell him to put the smallest amount indicated in, then run it and see what it does. If all the vents are blowing cold, (8°c or lower) all is good.

Don't be tempted to put extra in, that's really bad for the compressor.

Thanks for the advice

When I was living in Qater the 'mechanics' in Gasoline Alley would just connect a hose, turn the thing on and overpressure the system to cope with the 50 degree heat!

Hi,

As you are not a subscriber, I can’t see your location.

If you’re near Manchester. I can check it, leak test and recharge.

You may need oil topping up in the system too. I’m not sure what year your chassis is.

I assume X250 is still current and it’s not the (x250/290). The news ones use R1234yf not R134a

Thanks All - mine is a 2013 250 so not sure if that impacts on the type or amount?
