On the Loire avoiding the plentiful amount of Brits here.

Now Home.

Just back from 3,000 miles/2 months through Germany, Italy, Austria, Netherlands.
Only 3 other UK motorhomes spotted! Despite staying on several very large and popular sites.

We've been back for two weeks after the full permitted 90 days in France and Northern Spain. Only a few UK motorhomes seen until we got back to Normandy. Still had a great time but missed the chats a bit.

Athlone in the centre of Ireland today.
We been here three weeks and have only met two chaps traveling on their own - and we had all stopped for water.
We've fell in love with Ireland again after ten years away.

Hi Mousy

We are 8.7m, with 4 m trailer and scooter. We decided to book sites in advance up until end Aug owing to school holidays.

I would suggest emailing sites in advance to check site entry and pitch sizes. We would not be able to enter some sites, never kind getting on to the pitches.

Also, check sites size. We were next to.one in Istria that housed 10,000 people!!! We are on one here in Baska and it has room for 2,500 people!! In fact, lady on reception said on one day in May, they had 2,000 people descend on them. Only 4 on reception. There was a 7km tail back. Checking in took some 4.5 hours!!

Bring Kuna with you as a lot of the smaller cafes, bars and restaurants do not accept cards.

If you haven't already, apply for a Halifax Clarity or similar card as there are no transaction fees if you pay it off before month end.

Buy your Kuna on line before you travel. Some if the ATM's charge upto 15% transaction fee. Remember that they will be converting to Euro from Jan 23, so don't buy too many unless you plan to come back next year!

Be prepared for some crowded beaches and towns if coming early Sept.

Take your time, it's a lovely country. We will be here for 4 months so hope to see a fair bit more.

Roads in the whole are in good shape. People lovely. Food great. Beer cold. Diesel and LPG reasonably cheap.

Let me know if there is anything specific you may wish to know.

😁
