Peugoet Boxer
Hi
As a new owner with no experience in the scene I wondered if I could ask a few questions regarding my van
Firstly it is a 2013 Pug boxer conversion at a tad under 6m , it is not the super high sided model and is a L3H2 spec, at 6m will I be subject to any restrictions that I have not thought about? Maybe tolls and ferry costs etc?, I work in Europe all year round as a truck driver so know the score with everyday goings on, it’s stuff like vignettes that I need to be on the ball with, the pug is plated at 3500kg
Thanks in advance

Hi, as it’s plated at 3.5 t. You can buy a vignette as soon as you need one from service areas, shops, etc as soon as you cross borders. Nearest service area ok, and a choice of days needed. No need to buy in advance. The “go box” is only when you’re over3.5t.
Quite an easy system.

the length is not an issue most of europe are more restrictive on the weight particularly in excess of 3.5t AND upwards.

TO ADD TO THE POINTS ON GO BOX / VIGNETTE THOSE ARE IN AUSTRIA AND SWITZERLAND
you wont need those generally through europe.

Tolls should be Class 2 in France - we use a ATMB tag just to make it easier especially if RHD. Tunnel doesnt care about length but ferries will be cheaper at under 6m - unless you add a bike rack of course.

We are 3.85t and may go through Switzerland and Austria later in the year. All this vignette stuff makes me want to go around via Germany

I love Switzerland :) Yes, it is expensive but worth it :)

As we are over the 3500kg we need to stop at the border and buy a 10 day pass (longer passes are available). You have to scratch off (or write on) the pass each day you are in Switzerland even if you are not using the roads.
