I am a newbie
Could any members offer me any advise on buying a decent TV for my Swift Voyager please? I am thinking maybe a 19-21 inch would be fine. I have a fitted arial and TV mount already in place. A mid range price mark would be ok. Thank you in advance.

I like avtex but thats cos its combined dvd player,im sure theres much more modern ones now tho

You'll struggle getting one less than 24" now. We've just bought an LG 24" with Bluetooth (for Ann's earphone 😍)
It's mains powered only though so won't suit everyone. £170

We have just fitted a Sniper 21” Tv which we are happy with. Main reason i chose it was the bluetooth function which connects to a Bose speaker or my bluetooth earbuds. Works well with aerial or firestick. Works 240v or 12v.

Have a look at the Manta range of TVs (Polish)…..
Here’s a tip - don’t buy a ‘smart’ tv, but get a ’dumb’ tv and a Firestick. (y)

Thank you Pampam I have looked at the Avtex but they seem a bit pricey, although I am aware you get what you pay for! 👍

Lidl currently have a TV for sale, I noticed it earlier in the week. A decent brand possibly a Sharp? I looked at it and it comes 12v and 240v power cables. Around the £130 mark I think. Sorry I didn't take much notice as I don't need one.

We’ve got a Cello and we’re pleased with the picture quality and it plays DVD’s. What let’s it down are the tiny speakers that are on the BACK of the telly
We use a sound bar with much bigger speakers and they point in the right direction!

That is one issue, but more annoying is neither DVD work and the TV locks up part way through a program and needs unplugging and then turning back on. When locked up, it no longer responds to the remote or the buttons on the tv. For one to do this is a random fault, for both to do it implies a crap design

There is a free avtex TV with DVD in classified. Its the same as the one we have and ours works fine. I think it may be a little smaller than you want.

Sniper for us. Great pictures, 12v or 240, Bluetooth and it’s a smart tv. Sound could be better, but play through Bluetooth speaker and you’ll never know. Get them from Amazon

Excellent sets and vastly superior in picture quality than Avtex - expensive rubbish in my opinion and I have had the misfortune to own two. This will get you around the 12v problem for about £25.

You have been unlucky with your Cellos. I bought a 19" Cello Traveller and (touch wood) it works just fine and plays DVDs although as others said the sound is weak and tinny from the built-in speakers. The HD picture quality is average but reflects the price.

Next step is to try linking it to my cellphone after I switch network provider to Sky Mobile so I can cast the Sky channels to the Cello TV (that doesn't count as part of Sky's data allowance and is unlimited) without the need for an aerial or satellite dish. The instruction manual indicates this should work.

Sky blocks casting from all mobile devices.

We bought a new Avtex TV and sound bar when we bought our first Van. If I was buying again now I would probably take a chance and see if I could pick one up on eBay 👍

That offer was last month , I tried a few Lidl's a couple of days after the offer came out and there was no stock . £159 was the price and it was a Sharp 24" but i believe you had to buy you own 12v adaptor as it wasn't supplied .

Definitely still two on the shelf in my local Lidl yesterday. Sorry not sure about the adaptor but it definitely says 12v on the box.

Must have different offers in south as 2 of the lidl's i tried were around Porthmadog on sun 26th sept and then a couple when i get home. Have seen a some advertised through Amazon ,one with the 12 adaptor another you have to buy as an extra and the prices have gone up £20 in the last couple of weeks.
