I noticed a drop in the power steering fluid level recently, topped up and today when I checked again it's dropped slightly.
Upon investigation I think I found the source of the leak by these slightly moist gaiter rubbers ?
This is from offside wheel arch.
I assume a seal has worn
Anyone know how what's involved and how big a job this is to repair, just so I have some info when I speak to the garage and hopefully avoid having my pants pulled down ☹️
TIA.
Edit : 2003 x244 80k miles.

How old is the van

Could be seals on the steering rack
Dry/cracked hose ends
or even just a loose connection in the boot/hose

If it’s only slight try Power steering stop leak. I used it in a Scimitar I had that was rarely used so seals tended to dry out. Leaks normally stopped after using it for a while. The power steering continued to leak so tried additive it worked, never had to touch it for the years I owned it after.

Apologies, see above. Can't get photo to load for some reason.
Photos loaded now 👍

That doesn’t look much of a leak to me. You sure everything else ok/dry?

I'll go back under tomorrow for another look but I couldn't see any other sign of a leak.
I'll try the stop leak stuff and see if that cures it.
Thanks all 👍

Have you looked under the pump?

I would guess that the gaiter is probably full.
Personally if it is I would go for a reconditioned rack as the other side is as old as the leaky side.

Where would be the best place to source one, or just leave it up to the garage ?

It’s driven by the engine drive belt. Formally know as “fan belt”

As your asking I don’t think you would be fitting a rack yourself.

As I was told regarding Landrovers leaking. “If it stops leaking it’s empty “.

Probably won't cost much more to replace the rack.
The rack has to come off anyway to replace the seal and bush
