Oy, you calling me an Anorak?

I won't get too excited after the hype with AGM's and look what a load of crap they turned out to be.

There are quite a few light planes flying on lithium, for a few years now, it's getting to be proven technology.

And of course a lot more cars than planes.

Not to mention billions in mobiles being pushed to the limits every day.

Pity about the fires.

Some airlines will not accept any Lithium battery as cargo, so why would one want to get airborne in an aircraft using several thus multiplying the risk of fire?

I doubt whether the aircraft in the video have the payload to carry adequate fire detection and suppression systems in the battery bay.

It's called fun. There was a lithium motorglider running a good ten years ago, I'm out of touch now but I've not seen any light aircraft lithium disasters.

An electric propulsion system is an order of magnitude simpler mechanically then a petrol one, so safety wise I don't see a problem.

We are talking fun here, just short flights.
