On 4th van so not a total newbie....
Usually we just stay on aires in France, but have joined acsi this year to see if any good, we tend to move around so aires generally suit us.
Trying to find a site that gives the acsi cheap rates but can't find any all seem to be €25+ is there any way of using the app?

There are 2 types of ACSI sites. Some are the discounted ones where you use the card, the others are simply ACSI inspected and charge what they like.
If you’ve joined the discount scheme, they’re the ones you want, and nothing will be more than their set prices. The app is easy to use. Again, it’s the ACSI DISCOUNT scheme sites I think you need!

Thanks both, looking on the site linked to it is easier, still like wading through treacle... Shame search for sites doesn't list them.

We buy the CampingCard ACSI app for a few euros extra and always use that rather than the web site. I find it quite easy to use and it can also be used offline (once you have downloaded the data).

As said above, you need the ACSI CampingCard version for the discount rates of: €12; €14; €16; €18 or €20 per night for two people with hook-up (and a dog). (y)

The app is good, but I also use both the website and the printed guidebooks sometimes. :)

On the website you can set the maximum amount per night you want to pay, which will help you find less expensive sites, if that is your priority.

Don't forget you may have to pay tourist tax plus local taxes that may apply. In Slovenia last year at the Ljubljana city site the ACSI rate was €19....but add on tourist tax , refuse tax, air tax, and any other tax the price was €28 per night.. when queried they pointed to price list on the counter... They didn't show us upon arrival...
Never encountered this before...some don't charge and taxes. (y)

Some do, some don't....it depends on whether the local authority levy a charge or not (we've found its about 50/50). Still cheaper than paying the full price though.

We bought the discount card for the first time last year and it easily paid for itself so we renewed this year.

If you use Campercontact you can filter to see all sites which offer ACSI discount

Thanks, but still no indication of discounted price, for example, one near us now is showing as €44, I then have to search on acsi to check the discounted price?

Exactly
You select a site in the area that you want and then check the price
But...
You can also check reviews and facilities at the same time

Found the cc app, and working, seems they have about 3 different apps/websites...

Yes, somewhat confusing. If you want the app which shows you all of the discounted sites and only discounted sites, make sure you use the app called "CampingCard ACSI" and not "ACSI Campsites Europe" or "ACSI Great Little Campsites".

Assuming by "cc" you meant CampingCard and not CamperContact...

Seems to be standard price not the acsi price.

The OP doesn’t state when they are going to use the ACSI but they don’t offer discounts in the main holiday/summer months.

It's all in the book.
I use the book too. The cheapest ACSI rate this year is €12 but there aren't many at that price. We are currently on a site by the Rhône for €16 a night.

I use the books as generally faster and easier than on line.
I then check out the web site to see if it’s a place we’d enjoy.
Never had a bad one yet, although Chartre not that special.

Trying to use the camping car acsi site, but now saying can't access as haven't purchased access or completed process, go to website....
Website gives no clue.
Don't think I'll be renewing this.

There is 2 Acsi apps if you have the Camping Card Acsi one this one only lists acsi discount sites and motorhome stop overs.

That's the one I'm trying to use but won't let me now.

Have you got the two directorys , if you have just use them for finding sites, which they are excellent for, then try negotiateing with the site without mentioning the discount, if they aren't busy you will more than likely get a discount anyway.
We only joined once ,4 years ago but still use the same books.
We don't use sites much though , only for odd nights for washing machine and that, but mostly find we can negotiate.
