I wouldn't be happy.Sorry if this has already been covered. How do we feel about the suggestion that you will need a vaccine certificate to travel abroad?
I think it's jumping the gun a bit, lets just see how things develop.Sorry if this has already been covered. How do we feel about the suggestion that you will need a vaccine certificate to travel abroad?
I was going to say that as well. Never checked anyone have they ,so far ?As long as it applied to non nationals coming in to Britain too....
I can supply you with one now if you want ?Sorry if this has already been covered. How do we feel about the suggestion that you will need a vaccine certificate to travel abroad?
Good questionWill a vaccine stop you being a carrier?
I can see other countries insisting before allowing entrySorry if this has already been covered. How do we feel about the suggestion that you will need a vaccine certificate to travel abroad?

But if thats what it takes then why not ?
If everyone was vaccinated then it wouldn’t matter. If some choose not to be vaccinated that’s their choice therefore their risk. Will a vaccine stop you being a carrier?
Slow news day then?It has been talked about, albeit on the BBC.
Also travel insurance companiesI can see other countries insisting before allowing entry
Every traveller is already checked at every borderUnworkable if every traveller is checked at every border !
That’s not strictly true is it? There’s no check going from say France to Switzerland from Chamonix valley over the pass. No check going through Mont Blanc tunnel to Italy. No check France to Germany. I could go on.Every traveller is already checked at every border
Schengen area, but would be checked at entry to the area,That’s not strictly true is it? There’s no check going from say France to Switzerland from Chamonix valley over the pass. No check going through Mont Blanc tunnel to Italy. No check France to Germany. I could go on.
Yes good answer I’d forgotten that. Question, if we travel by road from France to Italy there’s no check but if we fly there is. Does anyone know why this is? I even needed my passport for an internal flight in Italy in September. Milan to Sardinia.Schengen area, but would be checked at entry to the area,
Not so! Freedom of movement within E.U. for their citizens and I belive UK citizens will only be checked upon entry and exit from the E.U.Every traveller is already checked at every border
I did think this but for international travellers the shengen area is treated as one international border. So I o understand what he was saying. Not so! Freedom of movement within E.U. for their citizens and I belive UK citizens will only be checked upon entry and exit from the E.U.
I took FIL to Ireland and although no passport is needed we had to get him one in order to fly. If the government had not reneged on letting us have identity cards a passport would not be needed.Yes good answer I’d forgotten that. Weird isn’t it? If you had say driven to Ireland from Northern Ireland there would have been no check at all, not even a record of you ever having been, but to fly you needed a passport. I find that a little strange to say the least.I took FIL to Ireland and although no passport is needed we had to get him one in order to fly. If the government had not reneged on letting us have identity cards a passport would not be needed.
We had always driven before but on the last trip FIL was not up to the long journey so we decided to fly, we had a lot of trouble getting him a passport. He had lost all his paperwork, so we had to apply for a birth certificate, then we used this to get him a bus pass, because he needed photo ID to apply for a passport, also because he lives with his son he has no utility bills, which they wanted for the bus pass, I can't remember how we got round that, after getting all the documents we then sent off to Ireland for his passport. All so he could fly to a country that doesn't require a passport for entry.Weird isn’t it? If you had say driven to Ireland from Northern Ireland there would have been no check at all, not even a record of you ever having been, but to fly you needed a passport. Yet another demonstration of the lack of joined up thinking by the educated intellectuals who make these decisions and rules.
Sorry...I should have made it clearer....my response was to The Ex-Gasman’s post, not your original post, which I believe makes a very logical plan. With regard to this issue I've raised, I don't believe a decision or rule has been made. It has been argued that a covid vaccination certificate for travel, could help prevent spread of the virus from one country to another. This doesn't sound like an altogether stupid plan, put like that.
