A thermistor is a resistor whose resistance value is designed to vary with temperature.

An NTC Thermistor = Negative Temperature Coefficient resistor. In other words, as it gets hotter, the resistance gets lower. In contrast to a PTC (= Positive Temperature Coefficient) - as it gets hotter, the resistance gets higher.

If I had to guess the polarity, I'd say that usually the switch is in the positive supply. That means that positive is to 1 and 3. Therefore negative is to 4 and the Load. However it is certainly possible that the switch is in the negative supply, so I could easily have guessed wrong.

Looks like an electronic fridge controller, the load will be compressor or mag valve, and the L & N markings are out of shot.

Live into 1 and loop it into 3.
2 live out to comp (or Mag Valve)
4 neutral

Comp needs a neutral {of course) from somewhere too ?

Out of interest, what is the load? What is the diagram for?

cheap Chinese fridge controller

Is for on of those expensive mobile chiller/freezers £600 but the NTC has failed and its foamed in. Manufacturer cannot be traced. This one is Branded Snooper. Spoken with RuncornHQ and they haven tech info.

S0, going to bypass the internal boards and wire this direct to 12v Compressor
