I was never that interested in history at school so I'm sure there are plenty of you out there that will know all about this place. The house was Paul Joseph Goebbels and the school close by built after his death in 1945. The school was (Jugendhochschule) school of the Free German Youth which all closed up after the fall of the wall around 1990.

Its all up for sale by the Berlin council and other than inside the buildings you can just wander around the place.

We love these sort of places, almost apocalyptic.

I tried twice last year to paddle out to Little Ross, D&G and twice turned round when the conditions were too rough. A few weeks ago, a commercial kayak trip got in to difficulties near the island, resulting in a helicopter rescue.

Third time of asking, I made it out there this afternoon and it was worth the wait, a lovely little island, albeit still a little choppy in places ?
