Broken most bits now
Thought lockdown would be a good chance to get fitter so started a bit of jogging. 16st lardy lad having done no exercise since 1980. Decided to try and reach a departure port from France to UK. Started on the Atlantic coast near Bordeaux at the beginning of April and wondered how far I would get before lockdown was eased.
I'm trying to do at least 5km/day and so far I've flown past Bordeaux, been through Rochefort this week and hoping to get close to La Rochelle early next week.

This was todays Strava route

I am old school used to miles and minutes per mile so that to me reads approximate here, doing it roughly in my head, 10 min mile pace.
Pretty good keep it going, love to see people running. Eliud Kipchoge is on BBC tv tomorrow talking about his/ first ever sub two hour marathon !!
Everything stacked in his favour of course but it gives you something to aspire to :Eeek:
Stick with it :clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2:

With those trainers I'd hope to be near Brest by now ??

Well, managed another 10k today so flew through La Rochelle (good job the Royan - Le Verdon ferry was operating the other day). I'll be staying the night just north of a little village called Esnandes on the D105. Heading for Saint Nazaire next week.

Well the ferry price for the Moho isn't at all bad - and as you were only there virtually you'd avoid the cost for humans, so not too bad all in all!

Oh managed 6.5km today due to having to bake a cake?. Ran through the lovely village of Charren and I'm now on the D9 on the Bank of the river Sevre Niortaise enjoying the evening sunshine.

When my nan had arthritis her doctor advised her to walk half a mile a week...…………..
……….
We haven't seen her since 1973.... :Eeek: :tmi:

Not sure what went into the cake yesterday but managed 20km today so currently admiring the amazing cathedral at the lovely town of Lucon. I think I'll put my feet up tonight, they're a bit sore..

Well done on your running. Decent pace and hopefully you are seeing and feeling the benefits. Beware running can get additive. If you get a hour to view this it’s an awesome watch...enjoy

Monsoons all day today so only managed 5k - sat outside a closed restaurant in La Frise. Hopefully better weather tomorrow for some progress.

Managed 10k yesterday and 10k today despite torrential rain. Now wringing myself out at a small village called Le Chaigneau.

Not from these parts but I'll try to enjoy it tonight anyway

Been taking it easy and getting some chores done so only managed 20k since Thursday. It's been raining all week but nice to be sitting at La Gombretière in the glorious sunshine
