2018 Ducato battery

Hi Folks
Am still trying to sort out my key fob (see earlier post)
Am trying to loosen the nut to the battery lead to see if disconnecting might sort it. It won’t budge. Is it fixed in place or something? Don’t want to put too much pressure on it.

Try tapping it with something. Sometimes they get a bit stuck because the lead post is soft.

If you mean the starter battery the + terminal plate may also be held on with 2 x screws as well as the clamp it may be better to disconnect the - (earth) lead instead

Negative is just a lever.
To take the Positive terminal off you have to undo the 2 self tappers in the red locating strip as well as the terminal nut.

Yep as Lenny said the neg is just a lever clamp and the poss has to have the 2 screws holding the red strip down then undo the clamp. Bolt.

Just disconnect the negative if you're resetting by removing all power. You're supposed to disconnect that first anyway so you don't short the positive to ground with your spanner

Mine is 2017 but I think they are all the same from 2006.

They are all the same from 2008, negative is a lever always disconnect that one first.

If you have more than a lever operated earth connection, you may have a key switch operated battery isolator fitted to the earth terminal. (there will be a button you press located at the key/starter switch if you have this feature fitted)
