Not long enough!
Am looking for a ehu adapter for 2 pin Spanish campsites, but must be waterproof.
Can't obviously find one....

Thanks ludo But I dont think its waterproof.😁

That link was to a weatherproof adapter, I've never seen a waterproof one, if you mean one which can take immersion in water.

We looked every where for one Sue.. To no avail... :frowny:

Best you come back to the UK.... at least you know ours are waterproof... :giggler:

The plug might be weatherproof, but even then it will depend on the socket it is plugged into. As for waterproof, I doubt they exist, why would you want to immerse them into water. :gum:

Do they make one? I thought the mains plug was inside a covered box and as regards the coupler (blue bit )
I thought they were as mike as stated...weather proof? How about a plastic bag?

kev (y);)

Perhaps I meant weather proof but with the amount of rain that falls here, perhaps I mean waterproof? 🤣🤣🤣

The weather proof ones seem to be a rubberised one, rather than the plastic.

The worst that can happen is that in heavy rain it could trip the post.I have used one for 20 years on and off and its never been a problem.BUSBY.

Ooooh no! Our blue ones are only weatherproof. IP64:

This is why some campsites will not allow you to join them.

This is a waterproof connector IP67:

They do actually. This one is IP68:

However, you need a matching waterproof socket at the campsite as you say, which I've never seen.

Sue

Water/Weatherproof plugs are dependant on a special socket, they usually screw together, and as such there's not a lot you can do if the socket is a standard one. I used to do events/exhibitions on the continent and I've never seen a weatherproof two pin plug, In my ( limited) experience, the rubberised continental plugs are the same as the the UK, it makes them less likely to break with rough treatment. If you're trying to make the connection between your EHU cable and the adaptor cable weatherproof, all I do is to try and hang/prop the 16amp plugs so that the female socket is pointing down Or do as the continentals do and wrap a carrier bag around it.

All the round blue 3-pin plugs and sockets are weatherproof. Look for 'IP44' marked on it somewhere. The second number is the degree of 'Ingress Protection' against liquids. 4 is splashes and spray from all directions. Not powerful jets, not immersion under water. They are designed for outdoors, used for example by street market traders across Europe.

Higher numbers are better. For example IP67 is proof against temporary shallow immersion, but not permanent immersion. I'm sure Mr Google will show you the full list.

If you mean the '2-pin' plug, I think the standard plug in a socket with a spring flap is usually rated weatherproof, maybe IP44. Unlike the UK 3-pin plug which needs a lot more covering to make it weatherproof.
