Whilst wandering around ASDA today I spotted this TV for sale 12v Television Although it does not say it in the specification it is a 12v TV so may be of use for some looking for a cheap tv for their van.

81 watts seems unusually high. My 10" set is only 18 watts. So perhaps not good if you want to run it on 12v

j think it will turn out to be 18 w as the larger 30inch ones are only 50w !!

i also reckon its a typo and it is 18watts.

81watts @ 12v is 6.75amps....far too high for an LED TV of this size, even if it had an inbuilt DVD player.

and definitely 12v as it has a 12v power socket but no 230v socket

If the Polaroid one is suitable, it's even cheaper here..

i stand to be corrected but the last time i looked at these in asda they are a 230 mains tv which runs through a black box in the lead which steps it down to 12v !!

12 Volt / 240 Volt TV

We bought one of these a year ago as now it was £150 then ( TV only ).
i also bought a wall mount ,i found that i needed it because it is a flat screen you need to be able to move the TV about to be able to view it at the correct angle if you are sat at a table or laid in bed .
TV , DVD, Card reader , Good unit .with low power consumption ,

yes they are, but you simply buy/make a 12v lead using suitable plugs to connect directly to 12v and dont use the mains lead at all.

CHECK THE LEAD BEFORE BUYING!

Polaroid are the same TV's as Luxor (renamed recently) Some have the traditional voltage dropper in the lead - the newer ones are direct mains lead only. To make sure, check that the lead has the dropper in line on the mains cord, and not a hard wired cord.

Otherwise a system we always used and works very well. Does pay to have a voltage stabiliser such as an amperor if using gennies and the like as the voltage spikes ay damage the set.

That one is, just saying to be careful - we picked one up thinking the same, and it turned out to be a hard wired mains one!

I see what you mean

done it myself with an Aldi 19" TV.
just assumed  it would be 12v until i got home. it now resides on the kitchen wall plugged into 230v socket.
