Someone here will know the answer. I want to put a 12v socket near the bed, rather than tap it straight from another 12v source I would like to take it from the distribution box with its own dedicated fuse as it will be often taking 8amps.

I noticed there are 2 spare fuse places in the distribution box. Where do I fix my positive wire in the distribution box? TIA...Benimar 264...

PS Its not me personally thats doing it. :giggler:

Without a fuse in the holder one contact will have 12v, the other will be 0v
Connect to 0v.
Thanks John but I'm nt understanding. I will take a photo of the pcb/box thing after dinner, hopefully that might help.

Grant Gellyneck , no he doesn't know yet but I'm guessing he will pretty soon. :giggler: especially if he comes on Fun.

@pppajohn if you look at the RJS there seems to be 2 spaces but thats all I can see

It's going to need some investigation with a multimeter. The plug on the right looks as if one if not two pins are not being used. These might link to the empty fuse slots. I would put a small fuse, say 3A in one of the slots and see if this puts a voltage on one of the unused pins.

This assumes you can fit fuses in the slots and there are pins on the plug. :)

As John has said it will require a bit investigation before you know whether you can use spare spaces on the existing board...if in fact they are available ..ie have they contacts to take a fuse...??
I just ran in some wires to a seperate fuse box from the battery.. but I installed more than one extra socket so it was worth it..

That looks like the same box as mine - a CBE DS300. On mine, there are no contacts for a fuse in those slots.

Umm that looks like two slots for SPARE fuses, not ones that you can wire up!!

As Andy says probably easier to go straight to the battery via fuse. If drawing 8 amps make sure the cables are big enough to avoid a voltage drop.

As already been said ther is nothing in the holes to plug fuses into. If I was trying to wire a new socket I would use a piggyback fuse into the step fuse with a 10 amp fuse.
Assume u are not going to need to use the step while u are using electrical devices in bed.;)

The two empty spaces don't have contacts for fuses.
The contacts are part of the printed circuit board behind the facia and aren't installed.
It was a good idea but unfortunately not possible.

The wiring diag for a cbe300 is available from marcle leisure.
At the botom of the box are 3 terminals
20 -B2 0v
21 +B2 services battery
22 + B1 car battery
B2 is controlled by main controller.
Ive used this with an inline fuse to have a 12v supply in the shed ( 2 small for a garage).

The PCB doesn't look particularly complex in the area of the right-hand connector. Why not simply visually trace it's connection to the fuses? From your photo it looks like the only fuses involved will be the 20 & 25 amp above the connector but a closer look wouldn't be difficult. If a diagram of the unit can be sourced that would be easiest but it doesn't look to be too complicated in the area of interest anyway.

Page 34 of instruction manual has the wiring diag. There are no unused fuse positions. The centre fuse positions are to hold spares. B1 B2 positions are protected by 50A fuses.

looking at the picture i suspect a piggy back fuse might foul the lid
