Hi,

Anyone got any recommendations for a portable 12v tyre inflator for my motorhome?
Has to be able to inflate to 5.5 bar (that's 79 psi in old money).

I saw this from Amazon -

Amazon product ASIN B07X618HXF
but wondered if anyone could recommend anything better or are they all much of a muchness?

Thanks

Graydo

The RING compressors seem to perform well. Check the spec but most go to 100psi I think.

Have a look here from a couple of weeks ago

Aha!
searched for tyre inflator but nothing too relevant came up.
Will have a look.

Thanks

I use the von haus cordless one. So convenient I now have two. One lives in the motorhome in storage, the other at home for the cars.
Can you please tell me the highest psi/bar pressure it manages in use for you? Thanks

Reallyretired- thanks for that. I need to go to 79psi for the rear tyres. So if it really does go to 125psi, I should be ok.
Think I'll take the plunge and order one.
I may get the one Jim recommended for leaving in the van storage shed and get the one you have for carrying in the van.

I have a Maplins compressor, had it for years.
Used it on RV tyres to 80psi no trouble.
Used it to pressurise an old 25ltr compressor tank to its cutoff pressure of 115psi.....0 to 115psi in 7 minutes.
Stated max pressure 140psi....and it won't be far off.
Can still be found on Amazon and eBay around £20.

It’s ok saying they will inflate to 100 psi, but I want one that if I switch it off at 75 psi, it will start again, quite a few won’t

Have a look at the auto ones on Europarts web site discount if you buy click and collect

Why would you want to switch it off then on again?
Because the gauges on them are so inaccurate I like to check them with a descent pressure gauge , and quite often I need to put more air in

How long does it hold a charge? Thanks

I know mine is 8 to 10psi low checking with a known gauge so I simply inflate 10 to 15 psi higher on the compressor gauge then check, letting a bit out if too high.
Saying that, I know the MAPLIN one will restart at 110psi from when I was converting the stand alone compressor tank.

I appreciate the info but I can’t find one on maplin web site, unless I’m looking in the wrong place

Holds charge for ages, I just recharge when I think of it. Mine have never gone flat on me but if they did there is a backup cable for connection to a 12v battery.
Incidentally the digital pressure guage on them seems spot on and agrees with my TPMS.

I thought Maplin closed down
