All,
Looking for some good advice for purchasing a good 12v battery and invertor.
Please note i am not going down the lithium battery route as I cant afford them.

What budget are you looking at?
What size inverter?
What do you want to run off the inverter?

If you answer those questions it will be easier to give an informed answer.

I am going to run 240v tv and small satellite receiver.
Also my wifes hairdryer 1500w.
I do have one solar panel on the roof.

TV and sat reciver OK but better to use 12v ones more efficient. For the hair dryer, you are going to need an 1800 to 2000 watt inverter and if you value your batteries at least 300 a/h of batteries, i.e. 3 x100a/h batteries.

Hi

Your TV may appear to be a 240v version, but may be supplied from a power supply. If it is take a look at the power supply output voltage.
I run an LG TV which has a 19v power supply. It was quite easy to replace the 240-19 volt power supply with a 12-19 volt version.
