12 Volt Air Conditioner

Its a fair chunk of change to lob out.....I would have to get a demonstration and " feel " for myself first. Until then my 2 Endless Breeze fans will have to suffice.

We used them in australia and they increased humidity too much and from our experience they dont cool enough--- sure they did cool but with limited cooling and increased humidity we personally dont think they are all that worthwhile------- I would love to be proved wrong with the newer ones!!
you can't change the known laws of physics, it is how evaporative cooling works. The super hot Arab and African countries have been harnessing the principle for Millenia. Hang a cloth sheet over an opening and keep it wet. The sun evaporates the water on the cloth drawing heat from the building

In your opinion is this overpriced for what it is ?

What are those fans like ? They seem to be very powerful .

They are/were used extensively in southern states in the us---- called swamp coolers----- but I wonder why most now use compressor cooling?

For me it’s the price . I would need to see this kind of unit being around the £500 mark ,competing with something like “Cool my camper” air con units . I get the fact it runs on 12v but the price is inline with units like the Truma under bench air con system . It’s just too expensive for what it is .

We had an evaporative one on the roof of our Hymer, you filled a water container attached to it which was in the wardrobe. It worked ok but when it got really hot in Germany one year it just blew warm air out. We were chucking ice cubes in the water container to no avail. Trav L cool it was called.

That’s my worry. Sounds quite good and a novel idea but at that price you could get a “ real “ air conditioning unit . We have a similar portable unit. Worked well until we were in full sun and 33 degrees . Once the ice melts it’s just circulating hot moist air.

Yes we remember it well, we were in Munster parked up near the zoo at the Muhlenof, the Trav L cool was useless in that heat, we resorted to putting flannels in the freezer for 30 minutes, then putting them on our foreheads and wrists, the only relief we could get.
They were fitted to quite a few Hymers the Trav L cool system.

the best way is to make sure all sun facing windows, especially windscreen have the blinds closed.

After all the discussion and maybe slightly negative( honest ) feedback . I still have no doubt this unit will sell very well IF the op can get the price down . This could work very well at the motorhome shows as the 12V operation is a true USP. Marketed at the right clients ( regular Rally groups ) this will be successful but the price needs to drop 👍🏻

Sit next to a fan and mist yourself 😎 works really well, you feel evaporative cooling directly then.

Same fan in the ceiling, works brilliantly at night blasting cooler air in.

Brilliant ! We did the mist and fan thing in the summer but those fans are amazing ! Good job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
When it gets really hot though like we had in in Germany the fans are useless too, our endless breeze fan was also just blowing warm air, as i say best way is to not let the heat build up covering windows\windscreen during the day.

stay on EHU and have one of these. Whats all this 12 volt malarkey, anyone would think motorhomes are designed to travel

Why do you need to stay on EHU? A 2,5kw inverter split takes 750-800w on start up to cool. Once there, it takes 250-300w to maintain. Easily done with solar Li and inverter.
Why nobody does a mini split with a 12v compressor? The technology is there already in fridge freezers, and it works fantastic. A small 1- 1,2kw and cop4 would happily draw 250-300w. This would be brilliant for a van.

maybe do what this company did...just sayin
Get some valuable feedback from funsters. Either way you will know whether A, your gonna shift a few, or B, sack the idea of becoming a distributor before you get in too deep.

From experience of evap coolers in Australia , they can be effective and good vfm in the right application , and climate .
They are very humidity concious , so high humidty , not very effective (in fact can exacerbate) , They rely on high airflow , so good in say shops with fly-screen doors , and windows open , as a lot cheaper to run than compressor types especially with un-enclosed spaces . Very important to sterilise regularly ! Wouldnt be my first choice in a MoHo although with provisos could give some relief .

I think humidity can be worse than the heat. When air con first comes on you feel the humidity drop straight away, your sweat starts to evaporate and all is well 👌

I was looking for new AC some time ago and I found many models on thefurnaceoutlet, they have the lowest prices on the market and can help with installation. I bougt Goodman AC for sale and don't have any regrets.

Thank you for all your valuable feedback, it is very much appreciated. To recap we are not trying to justify selling the Viesa to those who require a conventional air conditioning unit, we only want to offer an alternative which is better for you and the environment.

BENEFITS: 12 Volt Air Conditioner. Fresh air is 100% filtered • Doors and windows can remain open • It maintains a part of the humidity in the air, which is especially beneficial for allergy conditions or asthma • Reduces fumes, harmful particles and odours • Can be operated while driving • The cooling system efficiency increases as the external temperature rises • Low power consumption, up to 80% more economical than conventional systems • Easy to install, requiring minimum maintenance • Reduces static current • Eliminates dry air

Two Year Warranty

Aerodynamic and silent operating on 12 volts

No gas or chemical additives

Ecological and healthy solution to cooling: Refrigerant gas type such as Domectic and Truma systems consume energy which raises CO2 emissions and contributes to Global Warming. Air conditioners fueled by electricity use a refrigerant that results in gaseous emissions that contribute to both Global Warming and Ozone depletion. In fact one kilogram of refrigerant has the same greenhouse impact as two tonnes of carbon dioxide, which is the equivalent of running a car for six months.
