£45 for a fuel filter

Went to the local motor factor to get a fuel filter for my new to me pvc conversion! They said they couldn’t supply it as it’s a Citroen only part! Went to Citroen with the old filter and they said yes we have one but you’re not going to like this.......and handed me the invoice........£45😳😳😳😳😳😳😳🙄🙄 Oh Please!

My last van was a 3.0 fiat ducato, you can get the filter housing complete with filter for circa £60 on ebay! But you shouldn’t have to change the filter housing every time you change a filter but it’s a shit quality product 😐

Not a problem changing just the filter element when you use the correct tool for the job and torque the housing up correctly.
Changed ours several times at £12 a pop for the genuine OEM paper filter element. (y)

Typical got the part number from the new filter and they are available from £6.70 oem from eBay!!!!!!

It is if it’s leaking already from some hamfisted mechanic not using the correct tool (which i have)
and distorting the body/cap/ sealing ring!!!!

Surely if you have the correct tool then after replacing the mechanic cocked up housing with a nice new minter housing, it should have been plane sailing from then on for you to replace just the element. :giggle:
