It's all gone a bit bubbly has Leffe. Used to be smooth and silky, with a nice head, now bubbly and no head.

My dad’s favourite, normally bring him a selection back so will stop off on way to ferry for some. He did say he was cutting down as he’s starting to feel it the morning after, he’s 83 and easily drinks 10 bottles 😂😂 I take after my mum as a lightweight 😂😂

Hopefully the offer will still be on later next week.

Never seen cans in The UK, but did see the large Bottles of Blonde Leffe "On offer" in Aldi last night at arround £2.90 or near abouts, still too expensive as unlike our continental friends we don't get deposit money back on returning the empties.

That a lot cheaper than France especially bars was charged €4 for a 300ml in a bar a couple of years ago

Thread Drift Warning!
Shocking isn't state of affairs it, scared to imagine the costs at a winter Ski Resort nowadays.
like many I cannot afford to use pubs on the continent, even here in The UK for that matter, plus I have to drive, being the only driver these days. Cola/Orange Juice is as expensive as beer!
Whilst driving locally yesterday I noticed another two 100 year old local pubs were boarded up and for sale, I think the writing is on the wall for so many, the same as the Boulangeries, many restaurants, and small grocers in France. Who would have thought that Baguette/Pizza self service machines would spring up to replace them.o_O
The large out of town supermarkets provide all the everyday essentials, plus alcohol & luxury goods at a competitive price that the indies cannot afford to compete with.
Its a sad situation, more & more small towns will become ghost towns because of the cost of living crises, I really feel for them as they have no choice but to close.
PS: remembering a local long term well established local Family Butchers in Chobham Village about 10 years ago, they put a sign up outside saying "Use us or lose us"
Well we lost them, and the lovely sausages that they made. The shop became an Equestrian Supplier for saddles and such like, strangely they seem to have survived until this day, how I cannot imagine.

Watch out for the U.K. Leffe, they have reduced the strength from 6.5 to 6.0😩

Hope they sell out before we get home.

Not keen on canned beer, but, living here, bottled beer is cheap as chips. Don't often buy Leffe these days as it is a bit earthy, but Affligem, Grimbergen or La Goudale in that order depending on what is the best value. Honourable mention also for Pelforth Brune.

I’ll go with the Grimbergen, but really like Duvel 8.5 % aka carpet crawler 🤪

That's why I have mine with my meal...............after a couple of Abbot Ales though. ;)

Cheers. :drink:

Jock. :)

Had for the very first time on draught Jock Abbot Reserve at spoons in St Neots, Cambs last Saturday as part of a pub crawl 🙈Wow, what a drop of beer that was. Had many many bottles of the stuff over the years but, this stuff from the hand pump was an absolute pleasure. 🥳🥳🥳😋

Aye Steve, they know how to keep their ales, and tend to flush through before changing the barrel.

They often do Thornbridge Jaipur, which is another wonderful experience. ;)

With the good old wetherspoons app there's no need to get up to go to the bar. I once sat in a wetherspoons having a meal and a few points of Leffe, 4 actually. Hadn't been off my chair all night and when I got up to go to the toilet. I was drunk from the legs up. Reminded me of a Billy Connoly routine

When working away I always go to the wetherspoons for dinner.. Sit there knackered from a long day at work, ordering pints and food 🥰
