Well I did as well but I meant the panels really,

IMG_1807.png

It has been hot and hazy sun so not the best for peak output, I have seen over 520 watts on a clear sunny day but even still this is close to 200ah so not bad, we were nearly fully charged and then boiled the kettle a couple of times and cooked tea outside on the induction so got it all to do again tomorrow.

We don't have any of these gizmos, but we have two 100 amp AGM batteries and two 100 w panels on the roof, we have a compressor fridge , a big un not a coolbox, and with all the lights , water pump and stuff running off it and never seen less than 12.5 volts on the battery thingy, I think that will do us.

So have you an issue or are you just saying ‘Look at me’ 😳
:(

That’s a little rude, you don’t have to have a problem, someone is posting about a good system they have to inform others.

We have 2 solar and 2 batteries it’s interesting to see what can be achieved these days.
I have to agree Winger. Your comment was a bit uncalled for. :(
You obviously don't know the original poster as well as many of us on here do, because he is one of the most helpful on the forum, both with advice and solutions, as well as being a practical "hands on" aider on the Rally field, for anyone in need of assistance. (y)

If you had posted along the lines of, "If you've got it, why not flaunt it", that would have been kinder, and would have raised a laugh or two maybe.

Rule No 1 prevails here methinks. ;)

Regards,

Jock. :)

200AH I find that incredible the most I’ve seen on our display is just over 6AH😄

That’s with full sun at midday in June, even worse😬
Hi Paul, that's 200ah for the 24 hr period, peak amps would be around 25, what I find interesting though is the P max so maximum wattage is well below the total panel capacity of 520 watts, you/I think "brilliant a nice sunny day" but in reality it is too hot and hazy to max out, these things are important when you are speccing a system.

That's all that matter at the end of the day, some of us like gizmos and I think I fall into that category ;)

No issue, I put it in the "Solar Power" section just in case anybody was interested, obviously not though
I find this stuff very interesting, as it helps build my knowledge of stuff I currently know nothing about, but am learning so that when we change our van and would like these types of extra facilities, I will have some informed idea of what we will realistically need.
Also found the stuff at the Morelo factory very interesting.
Way out of my price tag, but interesting non the less to see the "top end" of motorhomes and a different countries approach to Motorhoming.

Again, another interesting point on the sun strength and its actual ability to charge solar panels.

All the gear, and no idea!
So have you an issue or are you just saying ‘Look at me’ 😳
I think that post was for me, as a few on here know that when Martin funflair is ready for hanging his keys up, he’s giving his Morelo to me and all he was doing was showing me what I can expect from the solar when I take ownership of it😁

On 3rd van so not a total newbie....
For comparison here is mine, 2.26kw yesterday from 440w of panels so about 5x, only peaked out at 321w, but was hot and breeze less, still enough to keep us topped up.

By comparison this is what my 5.6 kw system feeding 2 x 5.8 batteries placed at 10 degree incline facing due south on my garage roofhas made so far today by 12:00 have also done 2 8kg machine washes 90 degree cotton and 1 dishwasher load. It is sending just under 4 kw to the grid. There is a small 1.2 kw system on the main house roof which is at the moment running the house regular load, fridge, freezer bits and bobs. We dont export from the main array as the smaller system now 13 years old still get 46p fit so is more financially rewarding than the new system. In the last 7 days we have used 80p from the grid. This is only for info to those who may or may not be interested.

Why no absorption or float? funflair

I agree with your point that it is surprising you are not getting nearer the limit of the panel on a nice sunny day but I find it works the other way too, meaning that on a relatively dull day they still seem to kick in a bit of current when you would not expect it to. Which is nice.

I have seen P max over the panel wattage earlier in the year when the sky is clear.

Still in bulk mode, got to 96% and then we put the kettle on so still didn’t fully charge.

Is that saying that you are making 3744 watts from 5600 watts max ?.

If your getting 46p per Kw Fit you could charge up batteries at night on off peak and export it back and make a profit
