Been caravanner for over thirty years, now going to have motorhome very soon.
Just been reading a MMM magazine with a debate which one person wanted the price per night of children reduced or done away with the shortfall being made up by charging a lot more for bringing a dog on site.
when will this generation who want everything for nothing get in the real world…

Does that mean charge for kids and dogs?

I’m quite happy to pay for my dog.
it’s the part where he wants the children reduced or done away with .if you have a family you pay for a family not expecting someone else paying extra for thier children…

Like these people that just decide to invite their mates round to visit them onsite . Dont have the courtesy to ask reception IF its ok or IF theres a charge for visitors...just turn up , dump their car ,stay for a bbq, make a load of noise and rubbish , use the facilities and then clear off again . :envy:

If you have kids, dogs extra people, extra cars, visitors or anything else other than is included into a standard pitch price then you should pay extra .
Why? You don't in a car park & that is all it is?

Simple. No visitors allowed.

I might have been tempted now and again to do away with other campers' annoying kids.

Anyone know what the going rate is? Bulk discount?

Like the Pied Piper 🤔😊

I have to say it’s very relaxing not having poorly behaved kids on a site/meet.

If you are paying to park your van and thats all then fine but if you are paying for a pitch on a site with facilities then all of that has to be paid for .
More people per pitch make more rubbish, use more water, more hand soap, more toilet paper , which in turn takes more man power ....all of which cost money .

The problem you're always going to have is getting rid of the bones. ;)

Hi.
Our dog... IS....family, going free or paid for. There are rare occasions that we cannot take the dog somewhere,so we make plans for that.. Some sites you pay for dogs, some sites have dedicated Dog Walks. Some sites don't take dogs at all.Its all in Forward planning. If you cannot afford the children you should not have had them,as for asking someone to part fund them because they own a dog.......... Isn't there some "..'ism " about this. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Tea Bag....................... " Walkies Fang !! "

Yes it’s surprising how many facilities a dog uses these days 😉😊

They can spend hours in a shower 😊

A charge sheet? Are you a policeman…….?
(Oooops, given my past life away……..! ;) )

I went into a disabled shower in Spain and there was a woman showering her dog in it….😆😎

I wouldn’t have minded but she left the hair in the plug hole..😆😆🤦🏽

🤮

I hope you gave he a bollocking

Our dog gets more time, attention and pampering then i ever get
If sites take dogs then thats another expense believe it or not - cleaning up crap that some owners 'miss' , emptying poo bins and attending issues such as dogs that are left 'home alone' and howl or that bark constantly.

Just book an adult only site if you don’t like kids 🙄

Went to book into a private site a while ago. Told the price was for two adults and two children. I don't have children but have one small dog. That will be an extra £5 per night. But surely by not having children who would use the facilities, we have a dog who will not be using the facilities, so not happy about being charged extra.
Got back in the motorhome, turned round and found another site.

Geoff

Mrs Slocombe then! ;)

Reasonable argument. Likewise what if one has one child and one dog?

Solution: formally adopt the dog and carry an adoption certificate.

Pigs eat the lot, have you got room for a couple? 🤔
