O
I thought you were cutting it fine. 😆
Our total trip duration is 106 days and is our longest trip yet in terms of miles covered and days out of the UK. Historically, I think almost all of our trips have been within but very close to 90 days. The odd Morocco trip and then spending some weeks exploring Spain on the way back has probably taken us over 90 days in total.
Oddly enough I was not aware of the 90/180 rule when the big Historically vote was made and only became aware of it afterwards. (As an aside it had no impact on the way I voted as a, I did not know about this aspect and b, my voting decision was based on a much bigger and non related aspect at the time).
It was only by reading posts on here that I became more aware of the 90/180 and how it would impact on travelling in the E.U. and brought up in one of the many discussions, that I could apply for an Irish passport and become exempt from the 90/180 rule.
Even then I was not really bothered as most of our trips were within this rule. In the end I thought why on earth not and after a bit of buggery with Dublin, Mena and I got our passports.
I'm now reading about UK passport holders are going through really unacceptably treatment when going on holiday and I do wonder if the European commission has an axe to grind with the UK for leaving the E.U. and is deliberately making life difficult for us. I have also read that holiday makers may have to show they have certain funds before entering Spain on holiday which I find a bit extreme and possibly down to mischief from some of our tatty third rate tabloids. Anyway, If things do get as bad as predicted, I'm hopefully my children and grandchildren will also be eligible for a Paddy passport. Nothing worse than being in a que for hours snd hours when it can be avoided.

So today we have continued our drive scross Bavaria using mostly non motorway roads and through dome very picturesque landscapes. Some of the roads we hsve been on look like they have only just been completed. Immaculate surfaces brand new crash barries and new posts.
We have arrived in the oldest town in Germany, Kempten. Its documented at being 2000 years old and I will post dome pictures later today.
I said on my very first post of this thread that If I had any noteworthy information I would post it.
Well I just found this out and vonsider it noteworthy, so here goes! Did you know the Swiss do not speak Swiss. I've just been talking to a Swiss couple who I thought had a French accent and that is because they both speak French. Little did I know people of Switzerland speak either French, German or Italian and it is not uncommon for one not to understand the other because they are speaking different language's ( a bit like a Geordi and someone from Cornwall trying to have a conversation I guess!). Also, because of this language issue the goverment has to produce its written laws, codes and documented information etc., in all 3 languages too. What a palava. By the way those Bratties I cooked yesterday were very handsome.

There’s a fourth language in Switzerland - Romansh, spoken in some areas in the east of the country.

I only know this as it was a crossword clue in the paper earlier this week!

Kempten, we have decided to spend a third day here, it's a smashing town with some fine history and great Bier. The local museum is free as is the internet when the hot spot pops up. In fact this hot spot covers the whole of Bavaria and we were using it 45 KM away thinking it was a local thing. Adolf Hitler spike here before the war and apperently his speech was very well received by the locals.
We have found a sports bar and been made most welcome to come and watch tonights game.
A bit cooler again and in the low 20s which is a big change from a couple of weeks ago. I'm still managing to torture my grandchildren with more pictured of ice cream and have just bought this beauty which will send them potty.

Fair play - edited to appease. How did it go down with them then?
Well, much to our surprise the sports bar we went into to see this match, in the town of Kemten with a population of 70,000 people and as far as I could tell the only sports bar in the centre of the town with sky sports on 3 very large tv screens, had a total of 5 people in it during the match. One German watching the game, one German playing the slot machines, the barman and the wife and I. The German was disappointed but said we'll played as he left the bar and the German TV commentators made a big deal over the handball which was missed by the ref and VAR.The barman said to me if it was a BayenMunich game the bar would be ramed.

We have now left Bavairia and slowly moving across and up Germany. Yesterday we arrived at Weilhelm an der Teck which has a good Stellplatz where you are asked to pay via an app.The previous visitors left credit in the lecce supply so we have managed to get free electricity for our stay here.

A true FLT….👍🏼😎
Not quite! A true FLT would have stayed untill all the free lecce was used up. I deserve to be mentioned in despatches though as I swapped connections to make sure I continued to get free lecce for the duration of our stay.. When I left, two sockets had at least half a day's lecce left between them.
