Everybody loves a toilet thread, so he goes.
Our cassettes had go a lot of sediment on the top slide mechanism, tried various thing but it wouldn’t clean off.
I thought I would give this ago.
I put most of the box of powder in the cassette and then put a litre of hot water in.
Put the box upside down for a couple of days and then turning on its side for a day for on each side.
I then put the small amount of powder left on top of closed flap with more hot water to clean the flap.
Now got a nice clean cassette.

Hopefully the rubber seals haven’t been damaged (assuming it has some) I know it’s safe on plastic but not sure about rubber when left for a while to soak.

Use it all the time in the fresh water tank, but only food grade; run it through the water pipes and leave to do its magic, then run it into the grey tank and leave the same.

Safe, effective and a lot less rinsing than my old system of cleaning, so well done on cleaning the poops 💩 away 😀🤠

I hose the seal down and then apply some date expired virgin olive oil to the face of the seal and then open and close it 4 or 5 times [until the seal begins to rotate] so that I know the mechanism is operating smoothly.

Since this is a toilet thread, shouldn't the Citric Acid have been Lew Grade, sir? Or am I just taking the Michael ...?

30p a litre in France always bring ½ doz bottles back, use it for descaling the Truma boiler and kettles in the van & house as well as the cassette.
