Hope to fit the rail for the drive away awning in the next day or two. The rail has a self adhesive backing and then you use self-tapping screws to fully secure it. Is it worth using some sort of sealant as well along the top and bottom of the rail? And if so, which sealant? Martin thinks frame sealant would do and I disagree!

I would have thought Silkaflex or similar, especially as you're going to be making holes in your van with the self tappers.

Puraflex is on order. It's coming from a branch in Scotland to an address in Scotland but they won't deliver on Monday as it an English bank holiday. grrrrrrrr

@GJH sister is visiting my parents this weekend :) We will call in on Thursday as we are in Durham overnight but Martin wants the rail on before we set off.

Just one thing to watch out for - I'm assuming it is the 3 piece rail like This One - is to mount the pieces the right way, with the shaped ends at the ends :D

I will draw this to his attention ......

Just checked and two rails do have shaped ends which he (and I) may have missed.

You are a star Graham.
