After 35 years service my old Coleman Lantern gave up the ghost at the weekend. We looked for replacements on the net and @chris burns bought one from Amazon late at night while still drunk for £125. Over breakfast I showed him a much cheaper one on Amazon, same lantern, £85 so he cancelled that sale and bought the the £85 Northstar.
I couldn't bring myself to buy the £85 one, even though I'd never seen this retail under £129 before. Thoughts of maybe servicing the old rusty one maybe. Then this morning I found the replacement. A £129.99 lantern for just £53 That'll do, it will out live me. Just told Chris, he's not happy
These 220w Northstar lanterns turn night into day and the hiss they make is mesmerising. A proper man gadget at an amazing price.
