It's took me three weeks to get this little one to visit me and it's made itself at home today having explored every nook and cranny. Here transfixed by the reflection.

Well I was wrong it is a male. It has been coming back at very regular intervals so I moved the gum tree nearer the mirror. It did not take long before repeated attacks but hard to fight your reflection and of course each time they got to the top of the mirror he was alone. He stands perplexed pearing down the back thinking WTF?
To his surprise tho every time he goes back to the plant pot he is there again.

Yes Cabarceno.....did not do the drive round the park but they take buses round!!!

Just had them on toast - if I'm still posting tomorrow then they were edible ones!!!

I wish I knew how to tell for sure whether mushrooms are edible. Last year and this year we had some grow in our back garden. They looked and smelled like edible field mushrooms but we didn't dare try them without being sure and don't know anyone with knowledge to ask.

Fortunately - the farmer who owns the site did say they were edible

Apparently - if they look and smell like 'shop' ones they generally are - but I'm no expert so please don't take my word for it

I've got a couple of foraging books that are very good but you still have to be careful. Sometimes the only thing that separates a harmless one from a poisonous one is the time of year when you find it. Bottom line is if you aren't sure don't risk it.

This one is good:
