Hi all, new member here.

Male mid 50's just bought an older Citroen Romahome. Currently drive a small hatchback and have 10 plus years NCB. I am looking to insure this old Romahome for me and wife to drive but would also like to make it available for my 19 year old son to drive too. He has 1 years NCB on his own car.

I've not heard of any particular insurance that will put younger drivers on MH policies but at least you can use the many comparison sites?

Talk to Adrian Flux. They will insure under most circumstances.

What is the plated maximum weight of the Romahome? If it is over 3500kg your son will not be able to drive it legally unless he gets a C1 licence. You can get the maximum permissible mass from your V5C. If there is no figure against it look for the Revenue Weight instead.

Aren’t Romahomes typically quite small? Hopefully you will find something that will let you add him as a driver.

There are some insurances for younger people learning to drive, you can insure a car for an hour or two , maybe they can offer a young driver cover for a motorhome on a short term basis
