I’m a newbie
Toying with the idea of changing the motorhome colour scheme by wrapping the cab, doors and bonnet, anyone had this done and any ideas re cost and durability?

Is this in a seasonal vogue?
A few nice red ribbons, some bows and bells would look nice in December.
Don't think the paper would last long though, but would look ni e whilst it lasted and very festive.
Happy to help. 😄

The lacquer is peeling off my overcab, a known fault with my particular van. My neighbour is a vehicle spray painter and he has suggested getting that one area wrapped. I have an old workmate who's son does signwriting and will get a price off him for the job.

Poor quality wrap will only last a couple of years but the better stuff will last 5 to 8 years.

Make certain that you get a guy who has a good pedigree as there are some proper cowboys out there.

Also, be aware that if you wrap your cab and then need a front window replacement then the wrap can sometimes be damaged.

Costs should be sub £1,000 for a cab but this depends on material selection and the capability of the workmanship.

All the best,

Andrew

Wrapping is not a magic cure to covering up blemishes and paint issues. A good wrapping specialist will only apply materials to solid, smooth and sound surfaces so the lacquer problem will first need to be rectified before any wrap is applied.

You may want to compare a quote for 'prep and wrap' versus 'prep and re-laquer/repaint'.

The article I read showed the bottom third of the MH being wrapped. Looks good as it modernises the ten year old MH’s appearance and cost approx £1000.

Here's one I did last month. Quality vinyl is vital for easier removal but it certainly can remove the vehicles original paint.
