Some lucky individual has today clamed the 120 million for his/her winning lotto numbers. Supposing it was yourself, would you continue to motorhome if so would you change your make and model to something more suited to your financial status or just let your hair down in top hotels and buying property in some incredible places. Would you still attend rallies and shows in your motorhome. Me, I wouldn't change that much, maybe take up permanent residence in some very nice hotels around the world accompanying the jet setters as they track the annual events.
Oh well back to cutting the grass....;)

I ticked the no publicity box! :( Anyway, I'll still be using a motorhome to tow my rally car & all the other new ones I'll be buying with the 120 mill

Interesting question mate.

We had a chat about this recently, our view was threefold.

Number one, We'd buy a really nice big horse lorry (Scania) with decent living which would be right up to motorhome class.

Number two, We'd look for a normal motorhome that'd suit our requirements, it'd need to be six berth & quite frankly we hate the operating theatre white that an awful lot of new motorhomes have in they're interiors & we're not mega impressed with the furnishings either.
We've often felt that motorhomes were at they're very best in the early 00s to about 2007/8 then its difficult to find one that'd suit us.

Number three, a half decent campervan for me to scoot away on wild camping weekends, it'd need good heating as I love stargazing mid winter, a toilet, no shower required, decent cooking facilities & a comfy bed.

As a recent prize winner I can say categorically that my life and head have not been turned and my lifestyle will remain as before.

I invested the winnings into a meal out and the Premium Bond's input into my account of £25 has been well spent.

Please - no begging letters.......

Nothing would change in my life at all except maybe the odd bath in Moët et Chandon. Oh, maybe the occasional night out with Sophia Loren. And I would buy Cheltenham Town Football Club and change them into a top class, possibly even Division 1 club. I might consider building the odd hospital or funding an extra hundred ambulances, or possibly I would pay Boris 25 million to f*** off to America and not annoy me again. So not much really, my life wouldn't change.

I’ll let you know once I collect the cheque ??
I’d definitely keep motorhoming as we don’t do it just now because of lack of money we do it because we enjoy it, if having that money or anything stopped me enjoying it then I’d give it up. We’d definitely see the world and stay in nice places as well as the MH bit only if we liked them no matter what they cost

We have occasionally fantasised about it
Woman wants to buy a property in all the countries we like and have a private plane to get to them
All the kids and grandkids would have keys to everywhere we had
Rather than just the one MH, she has suggested several dotted round the world at strategic places

Me .. I don't know. For me it is the travelling as well as the time spent plotted up in a MH.
To make matters worse I quite like our van, and there is absolutely NOTHING out there I prefer the layout of
If money was really no object I would have two motorhomes built to my spec. ... which would be VERY similar to what we have
Why two ?
When a problem occurs with one, it could be shuffled off to be fixed and I could use the other

I would employ a full time research team, just like they do on The BBC, they would help us plan our motor home touring routes across far flung places, arrange for local tour guides to show us around interesting places, source out the best view/experience places to stay, suss out the local cuisine, and arrange for a top chef to prepare it for us.
I would then open a Funster charity raffle on here, and invite the winners to join us on "some" of our travels (after fully vetting of course) they must like a tipple and a good laugh.
Anyway, until then I have the grass also to cut, then warm up our weekend Fray Bentos Steak & Ale Pie with chips & gravy.

We would keep our lovely Hymer and our lovely home , maybe spend a bit on a new kitchen etc and would possibly buy a nice RV and keep it parked up in the US for frequent visits.
Our family would also benefit profoundly.

At present we are tied to old Mother except for a few weeks.

I would keep a MH as I really enjoy the freedom, but we could supplement our 3 weeks away at a time with short breaks away, by flying from our local airport 3km away in a private aircraft, so probably staying in hotels, unless we got another MH to park somewhere and flew there, toured around there, got it ferried to next parking and repeated.

I would change the MH but not by much - just to have a bit more payload, levelling jacks, aircon(cab and hab area), and island bed. Not much bigger - maybe go from 7m to 8-8.5 m to accomodate the bed. It would still be in the N&B/Concorde/Phoenix bracket, but I would want to jump the queue for delivery!

Also a yacht parked where someone other than me would maintain it - I was getting too old to be upside-down in the engine room or up the mast, so passed it on. But I would still skipper it myself, as I miss the wind in my hair and the views in Greek bays. Probably up from my 33ft to maybe 40-45ft. Engineer towed in the tender behind(He knows who he is)

Hmm? Might start spending some of my spare money on lottery tickets - but to achieve £10m which should cover the above, and up the chances.

I could do some bits of that now -but not all, and not continuously.

Buttons, thanks for starting the dream-box.

Geoff

£120 million, I wouldn’t want it to be honest maybe a couple of million but I don’t think we would change much, might buy the Vario I keep dreaming about, but money wouldn’t buy the time we are short of at the moment.

Definitely buy a house in SA and then cruise the world, I think. Do stuff to our house here. New drive, electric gate, update the bathroom, tiling in the hall and dining room. Sort the garden. Buy houses for both children and a nest egg for the grandchildren. Some to David Sheldrick wildlife trust and the Winnie mabaso foundation. The Tom Bowen Trust that provides equipment for disabled children. And a big converted motorhome for Steve and I with a chauffeur!

The only thing that would change .. well it's two, is I would move South near my little grandaughter and I would be able to afford organic, healthy, free range food and use any brown envelopes that come through the door as fuel on the fire pit in my small garden .. around which my friends would be enjoying a great bbq feast.

I'd replace our motorhome with another, similar size, similar layout but new!!!

I wouldn't ever win that amount though cos we don't to the lottery. A big Premium Bond win is the best we'd get and that would be ample.

Weeeelll that would take care of the two days of summer, but what about the rest of the year ?
A suggestion.. Have a big well ventilated barn like structure put up, supplied with several heat pumps for all year warmth, and put the fre pit in the middle of that...
Spread futons around interspersed with small bars so people can sit in comfort, chat, have a drink or three and just fall asleep... to wake up later and start again !

Oh, and maybe a glass roof to watch the sky at night :-)

Do you know what, l think I may have been on this. If it’s the one that belonged to Robert Stigwood in the 80s and berthed occasionly in Bermuda. Cracking good party if I remember....

I would change my Fiat Ducato base MH for something more reliable, probably a Merc base Hymer type. It would have to have a bigger payload than 3.5 tons wo I could carry all the Champagne and beer's.
