Just had a delivery of wood for the log burner, wanted to move the van.

It won't go int0o any gear...

Clutch?

Grrrr

Big job?

As above saved me typing ;)

And the clutch down I assume?

Like hand brake when been left on for a while,,,, damp and sticky plate..

Start engine and let the heat dry it out...

then as suggested above...

As above but make sure you have the clutch pedal depressed, whilst trying to start it in gear. The mechanical jolt should free it off.

if it is the clutch playing up, might be worth having it checked out and if needed, replaced when you get it into gear and can move it. might be blessing in disguise as having it go whilst travelling could have proved a lot more expensive and disruptive

Could just be the clutch sticking. Unlikely that anything has failed since you parked it.

Will it go into gears without engine running? If so, put it into gear and try starting it - with handbrake on!
Tried it with the engine off, went in ok.. Left it in 1st, clutch in, started, bit of a bang, but gears worked fine...

Big kiss from Shiftty....

Sounds like an Autocruise Starfire I had, if left for a while it wouldn’t go into gear, had to start in gear and let clutch out with a bang.
I traced the fault to the scuttle drain pipe directed to drip onto the bell housing.
I rerouted it and that solved the problem.

Glad that I didn’t make a suggestion 😂
