Hi,
I'm in the process of wiring a Sargent EC155 psu in my conversion at the moment and I have a couple of questions I need answered please.
(a) The installation manual says the white mains cable is for 230V sockets. I have 3 sockets installed. Do I wire them in a ring circuit? it's the only way I can think of that reduces the amount of cabling or do I have to wire each socket separately back to a shared junction with the white Sargent cable?
(b) My fridge is a compressor type so I wire it directly to the leisure battery. I take it I do not use a relay to link the fridge to the battery - is it a direct connection, with in-line fuse, between the two?
Thanks in advance for advice offered.
Joe.

The 'ring' description is often misunderstood. Technically, a ring is where all the sockets are wired into a single cable, one after another, and then - the important bit - the wire continues until it comes back to the supply, in a big loop or ring. A ring has a double connection at the breaker supply point.

If you mean wiring each socket into a wire, one after the other, with the final bit not returning to the supply, then it's called a 'radial'.

A motorhome is usually wired as a radial. If you're using 1.5mm2 wire, and the breaker is 16A or less, then you can wire any number of sockets into a single wire. I try to locate sockets for convenience and to minimise trailing wires.

Yes, correct. The reason for a relay for a 3-way fridge is to ensure it only works on 12V when the engine is running. That doesn't apply for a compressor fridge which works on 12V all the time.

Thanks autorouter for both replies. Both your explanations clarifies my queries perfectly.
