Hi there

Semi retired and picking up my new Elddis campervan in a couple of weeks, and hopefully will be travelling (solo) down to southern Spain later in the year to spend 5 winter months split between 3 or 4 camping sites

Apologies if this has been raised on another thread but would be grateful for a steer on good, well run and secure campsites to spend a month or so each.

My preference is for sites with a small bar, nice pool and perhaps restaurant onsite, not too far from the coast. Ideally a walk into a town.

Don’t ask for much !

oh, and coronavirus restrictions lifted of course

......and doesn’t it also depend on what happens after the ‘transition period’ ends?

If things get back to anywhere near normal then you may find the Camping Club usefull, have a look at their Winter Rally Sites. Don’t let the fact that it’s a rally put you off but they hold quite a few of the pitches on the main sites and you can get a better deal.

Really!. I assumed the 90 days would start at the end of transition rather than the date entering the EU. Obviously wrong.

Not wrong; just an assumption that may, or may not, be correct but let’s see what Mikeco says in response to my earlier response to him.

Ditto for the Caravan Club too.

Thanks for Caravan/Motorhome Club and Camping Club advice. Defo worth a look ?

Any hands on experience of sites from Gibraltar along the coast to Malaga would be handy, thanks

I apologise now for stealing this thread. I too have both UK and Irish passports (Irish one by Grandfather Rights). Does that make me exempt from any restrictions which may or may not come into effect post 31st Dec 2020.

Can’t help you on that one, as I have kept away from all that stuff, although my British passport runs out soon and from a purely travel abroad viewpoint l can’t really see a reason to renew atm. I have 6 years left on my Irish passport

Camping Cabopino, camping Calahonda. Both nice but pricey if not a long term booking. ACSI might help. Both near beaches and shops.

Greetings peeps welcome from West Kent

Plenty of sites near Marbella. Download a few apps then read the reviews??

Unless you identify one of the few sites with an indoor all-year round pool, it is unlikely you will find any outdoor ones open and almost certainly not heated during the winter.

Having said that, I hope you can find what you are looking for. (y)

Can’t do that either.
why not? " different years .

As long as you use the Irish one, yes.

I have an Irish and British passport. I wonder if that helps
Ha....well done...that helps....although can’t see any of these counties trying to stop one of the biggest economy’s in the world and one that brings squillions to Spain from staying as long as they like....besides European Union experiment is a busted flush....

this is a nice site for a month or two or even longer....slightly pricey but wonderful...no bar...or swimming pool bars short walk along the beach plus swimming in the sea.

Nope can't do that either it would have to be 3 months in the EU and 3 months outside EU ie Morocco
Ah yes... my mistake....3 months in Morocco and 2 months in Spain...even better....more money for Morocco less for Spain....or have a PROPER holiday and 3 months in each minus 1 week in Spain to shoot across France...even less money for them ?. Wonder if the French and Spanish will start to think “what have we done” and put pressure on their EU masters to entice back the Brits with “stay as long as you like, just bring your money” ?. Maybe...maybe not.
