Windscreen Wiper problem, will only Park in Vertical Position

I have a 2005, S820 Hymer on a Sprinter Chassis. The windscreen wipers work in all aspects, but when they park they go to the upright position.
All the linkages work ok, the wipers can be pulled down physically to the resting, horizontal position.
However when I switch the ignition on, the wipers go to the vertical position.
Has anybody got any ideas for me please.

Have you tried taking them off and placing them in the correct parked position when the ignition is on,or do they just move further back when you switch off?

They move onto the bonnet

Could be you need to clean the contacts in the motor.
This is off the f/b hymer group.

Thankyou, I have looked in the hymer owner group files but couldn't find what this refers to, I was hoping to " See more" . It sounds feasible, so will give it a go,

I don't know the Hymer wipers but perhaps 'pulling them down to the horizontal' has caused them to slip on and override the splines and they are now out of sync with the linkage's parked position.
