There are some quiet beaches in the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, Almeria, in southern Spain that might be suitable in winter.

Just for the record - be aware that under the national law Ley de las Costas, dogs are legally not allowed on ANY beach in Spain except the very few stretches that have been specifically designated "dogs allowed".
The chances of you being caught/on the spot fined are very remote so long as you go on uncrowded out of the way beaches, but the fine is 500 euros PER DOG if a Seprona or Guardia Civil Officer does catch you and decides to enforce the coastal law
Do it carefully and with discretion............

Just off the A7; coming back from Gibraltar direction take 2nd Sotogrande exit (North end), left at roundabout, up the hill to the next roundabout, take 1st exit and turn down unmade road on the left. We spent 3 nights by the beach last week. Lots of dogs running on the beach. About 5 motorhomes there each night, 20ish at the weekend when all the locals came out of the woodwork. 2 working showers too!

Just south of Villaricos, turning left by the Repsol garage is a good place to park on the beach. There is plenty of dog walking space just back from the beach. On average there are over 20 vans parked up and only the occasional clearing vans off. A bonus is water, showers and a toilet.

If it's where I think Alan is referring to, when the sun appears I don't think you'll need too many clothes either... ;)
