Boring days at the moment , thinking how to improve my Hymer. Should I fit airrides, if so why?

Fitting Air Assist to our Burstner was primarily a requirement of Uplating it. Having had it fitted by
as-airsuspension.co.uk it has also:
1. Enhanced the general ride quality
2. Greatly reduced the van being buffeted sideways by HGV's on the motorway
3. Provided a means to easily raise the ride height at the rear, especially handy to increase ground clearance for boarding ferry ramps etc
4. Handy for levelling up the van.

No downside really, except for the cost I suppose.(y)

We have just bought an Auto trail Delaware . The original owner paid £6500 (receipts available) for the complete fit of VB full remote levelling system. Honestly.....Its Bloody marvellous!
Press a button and it lifts to a ride height suited to the truck. You can press another button and it will tilt to empty the waste entirely. There are more options to play with to be honest.
Took it for a drive to see how it performs and the heavy rolling is lost and the drive is brilliant!
Seriously well fitted and a great bit of kit.
Just glad I did not have to pay for it!

VB semi air was the best addition to my sprinter based frankia. Much improved road holding. Much less buffering by wind or passing trucks. V happy with result. Would not want to go back to big ol’ rolling Hector.

Coz you can drive around with your backside stuck up in the air!

Fitted my air assist my self. I went for the system that I can alter pressure ride height myself. I only bought it as I didn‘t like the buffering overtaking lorries, and wanted to raise my bum when required. I didn’t need to do it we travel light, and van hasnt sagged at the back. The air has helped a lot and I find myself altering all the time for different scenarios. Very useful, and a great improvement over standard. Recommend.

I would Ditto everything Decaf say's. Without going outside, I can't remember what the actual difference is with the ride height, but It's not as much as I was expecting, having said that the MH does sit noticeably higher, you can now see the top of the rear tyres under the wheel arches.
