Have you decided to leave the club because if their arrogant stance ?

I did bin it a good while back but I recently re-joined and was given a site night voucher (y).

Arrogant stance?
Protecting people during Covid do you mean? with the facilities etc.

Possibly being a little over cautious but No I didnt as I have on board facilities, and am lucky that I am not in a position where I HAVE to use the sites.

or if you mean due to the closed period then NO again

I am puzzled over the use the word “arrogant” by the initial Otter Spotter so wait for the response.

No, I have left the club by just not renewing, expired last week. I will rejoin when I need to stay at one of their sites, but it will not be till at least July at the moment, as cannot see the point in joining if you cannot access the benefits for 3/4 months.

On the other hand you will presumably lose the monthly magazine which has useful stuff.

Check out the other recent CAMC threads 😉

So has ours, but we do prefer to use site toilets.
Fairy nuff I spose, we prefer our own though.

So no open facilities suits us, in fact we're in the other 'club' (C&CC) and use thier THS which have no facilities other than water and waste dump, have booked The Broads and Stratford is on our list (amongst others).

I guess 1 persons take on arrogance is not the same as another.
Its similar vein in that some folk where i have a static, feel they should be re imbursed for some yearly site fees as they cant use the facilities.
I dont as the van sits on the "real estate" and it has to be paid. Plus the ste still needs upkeep even when we arent there.

I wouldnt be arsed for such an amount of money with the CAMC.
Its support they need not slaughtering, plus the one night voucher is quite a balance.

I think both clubs have done an amazing job in the most difficult and trying conditions. Had to balance the continual changes to guidance alongside their legal duty of care to both their staff and members. I certainly won’t be penny pinching to save a few pounds, I’m looking forward to using their sites all over the uk as soon as we are allowed.

Exactly the same for me

I got the free voucher ,and actually I was over the moon to start with as I had previously decided to leave this year . When I booked the single free night that was over £50 in value and almost covered my yearly membership fee I remember being very pleased. In my view CAMC had done the right thing and I intended to stay with them for a very long time. I valued this free night as a much better deal than the 3 months extension offered by the C&CC.
What happened next has disappointed me very much . The Free night voucher thing has turned into a complete scandal with some people who have been members for over 30 years being refused vouchers while others were issued them instantly like myself with less than 2 years membership under my belt .
Next we had the assumption that we as members do not communicate with each other and various CAMC statements were made ,including one from somebody called Rowena , that basically called me a liar ,claiming that this ( voucher scandal )was just a “ communication error “
When I see the response from the CAMC to Otter Spotter who is a fellow member of MHF I feel sick to my stomach . The arrogant response of basically “ if you don’t like our opinion F.O” is horrible and the CAMC should be ashamed . I wonder if the people refusing vouchers to members of 30+ years have even reached the age of 30 😞😞
Will be cancelling and moving to stay at commercial sites and MHF Cls etc .

I only lost £20 membership while sites where closed which I was not worried about, I think it was right to close the sites. I feel They should have extended membership by 3 months to cover first lockdown as the CCC as a goodwill gesture as in that period we would normally spent 20 to 25 nights £500 plus is there loss. Then to take £54 for this years membership while the sites are closed for the first 11 weeks of membership and not starting membership for 12 months when sites reopen. CCC is doing well out of us in there 3 months extension.(y)
