I'm afraid must duck out of the rally
We're double booked at a Petanque competition - originally Steph was on the ladies team I was reserve BUT We are now BOTH on the team (I was reserve but someones on holiday) and the competition doesn't start until mid afternoon so we would not arrive until around midnight as there is a social element after the games we weren't told about too

Which is actually a bind because I wanted to go to Whitby got some Goth friends outside of funsters who I could bump into

Hope to try next year if we are not abroad

It's obviously not likely we're going to be able to be attendees unless something awful happens to the definite people so do people have any suggestions of what we could do to stay there during the event? Is there likely to be space at the park and ride during one of the days, or does anyone know of a site that's not totally booked up?

I did try to book stuff a few weeks ago but everything was chokka. I hadn't realised just how popular it was. Would it help if I flashed my bustle, lol

We first used a site called Broadings farm, you could try them, about 25 mins walk into Whitby.ir catch a bus/taxi

Are there usually any places available because people have not turned up who originally booked but then don't turn up without saying they couldn't make it? i.e. if we're far enough up the reserve list is it worth turning up on the off-chance, but being prepared to go away again if there definitely isn't a place? (We're only about 70 miles from Whitby and could always go somewhere else for the weekend if there are no spaces at the rally).

We're new to Motorhoming Rallies (i.e. never been to one, lol - so don't know the protocol or the likelihood of there being really last minute availability.)

And to be fair our van is quite big (7.2m) so we're not easy to squeeze in.
