We have a 2019 Elddis Majestic 120. Is there a particular kind of pipe/ hose that attaches to the external waste tap that would be used either on a fully-serviced pitch or if it wasn’t possible to empty directly over a site waste drain. If using the concertina grey pipe what connector to the waste tap would be needed?

Many thanks

Beware if you are going to use a "concertina" type pipe as all the gunge will get caught \ trapped in the "folds" and sink out wherever you store it.

Our length of grey pipe just pushes on with enough grip to keep it there. There’s no pressure so can’t ever see it being a problem.

You just need the correct diameter, I measured our grey tap outer diameter, from memory it was 28.5mm. I’m sure the grey pipe is listed by internal size of pipe so the 28.5mm was bang on for us.

Hard to say without knowing the exact sizes of the outlet pipe. On my old Swift I used to stick a length of 28mm concertina hose on the outlet (the outlet pipe was 25mm) and run it to the drain. On the Rapido I have 3D printed an adaptor to take the 40mm outlet pipe down to fit 28mm pipe.
I have the concertina pipe in several short lengths with joiners, so only use what I actually need and clean it everytime I get home.

You should measure it. There's at least three common sizes. 19mm, 23.5mm, 28.5mm spring to mind. US RVs commonly use 3", 1" or 3/4" hose depending on whether there is a macerator fitted.

For the other end it’s worth getting a short length of solid waste pipe with a 45 or 90 degree fitting on the end to put in the drain on site. Our grey pipe just pushes inside the solid piece.

Does it have to be a 'snug' fit? Think about a washing machine waste emptying into a stand up washing machine trap. It's nowhere near a snug fit but doesnt overflow ... so long as the 'receiving' pipe is a larger diameter than the drain, then gravity should do its job.

Ours points down so had to be snug enough to grip slightly.

I found a domestic waste coupling the correct size for the van and stuck the corrugated pipe in with sealant and made sure with a bit of old bike inner tube 👍

On our benimar grey waste outlet is centered with pull handle.Luckily all I have to do is slide pull along container (without wheels on)underneath job done.
At the the end of trip park over and pull!!!!

an old plumbers trick is to cut a couple of longtitudal slits in the pipe that the drain goes into and then use a jubilee clip to take up the slack. the thickness of the blade cuts allows the larger pipe to be tightened to a smaller diameter

Our MH outlet is 40mm and I have 28mm waste from my caravan days. A local plumbers merchant sorted me with a step down

Easy to adapt that and have a side drain. Far easier.
