Looking to purchase a tracker for our motorhome. Which one do you recommend?
Halfords have a few but not sure on quality.

Do you have the skills to fit your own?. Commercial offerings will require some level of annual monitoring fee, but that should be the basis for reduction in Insurance. I have a self fitted device, which also can cut the Fuel supply remotely.

A lot of funsters recommend the offerings from Vanbitz too. I had their alarm on my last R-V. but not an actual tracker.

Autotrails have a factory fitted insurance approved Tracker £360 every 3 years
I have not bothered
My insurance premium would be reduced by £11 per year it hardly stacks up does it £33 v £360

if you don't need it to be insurance approved then we have been very impressed with the Vanbitz Non-Starter package which includes a tracker as well as a remotely-setting immobiliser. The annual fee is £65. I believe no van has ever been stolen with one fitted.

Hi, I've been trying to decide what extra security to get fitted to our new van. My insurance company doesn't require a tracker to be fitted and only offers a modest discount for a thatcham approved tracker, so this isn't a factor for me. There's a huge price difference, both for installation and annual subscription, between a thatcham approved one, where your subscription pays for call centre monitoring and so on, and a self-monitored tracker. So the main reason I'd want a tracker fitted would be if I actually believed it would help the police recover my van if it got stolen. I think I read once that the police will only record vehicle theft as a "crime in progress", and so get a better response from them, if the vehicle has a tracker fitted to it (so it can hopefully be located). However does anyone know whether this is actually true, and whether that claim only applies to thatcham approved devices (can't see why it should)?

Plus 1 for the VANBITZ non starter, great bit of kit and YOU are in charge!! You can shut it down so it doesn’t go walkies, not like most others that tell you where it’s being stripped AFTER it’s gone!!👍👍
