Water mist.
If your vans on fire I think the mess made by the extinguisher is the least of your worries. Having served in the Fire Service for 30 years I’ll stick with my DP.Never had to use it but seen demo's. Amazon product ASIN B06WLNRJCQHave you seen the mess a dry powder makes?
I presume by that comment that you don't think the new type will work?If your vans on fire I think the mess made by the extinguisher is the least of your worries. Having served in the Fire Service for 30 years I’ll stick with my DP.
Can’t see the high pressure water ones working really. We had 750 litre per minute pumps which could supply up to 12 bar and sometimes struggled to maintain the pressure. So no not convinced.I presume by that comment that you don't think the new type will work?
We have Dry Powder and Foam and a fire blanket
The Dry powder is for the engine compartment
and the foam is for the hab
the fire blanket for the kitchen
I hope you don't mind me commenting.
I am sure you are already aware that a foam extinguisher is often water based, so not ideal for anything involving electrics. Plus unless applied by raining it or running it down a wall there may be a risk of spreading the fire by pushing it onto other surfaces. Foam will really only work if it is able to completely smother the fire, but is fine for something very small. Dry powder does make an awful mess though, but I guess so does a fire.
